Your Questions About Electric Gates at Your Property

They offer peace of mind and a sense of desirability about your property but, if you are considering installing electric gates you probably have some burning questions that need answering...

Will I be locked out or in my property if there is a power cut?

This is a common concern and we understand why! But, manufacturers of electric gates have already thought about this.

Systems of this kind usually have a large battery as part of the operating procedure and in this battery, will be enough stored power to open and close gates should there be a power cut. Depending on use, this battery power can last for a long time. It will also kick into action should there be a drop in electricity, known as a brownout.

There is another option too. Many customers are asking about solar power or even water-powered ‘electric’ gates. The solar panels capture solar energy and the battery on the system converts it so that the electricity can be stored, ready for when the gates are used.

What about if I forget the keycode or my fob. How do I work the gates then?

It is almost impossible to get locked in or out of your property, mainly because systems are created to prevent this happening - to put your mind at rest, we have never come across it.

There are different means of triggering electric gates at your property so that they open when you need them too. This can be a keypad, a fob on your car keys and a sensor in your vehicle that sends a signal when it is close to the gates, triggering them to open.
Most customers have a combination of these, along with an intercom to talk to callers at the gate. By having a combination of access triggers, the likelihood of being locked out or in is minimised.

If the system does fail, you call the office who will help you reset your system.

Do electric gates really live up to their reputation?

We think they do, yes. And here’s why;

  • A deterrent - electric gates are not easily climbed or forced open and so they send a clear sign to people with less-than-pleasant intentions to stay off your property.
  • Stylish - not all electric gates have to be made of heavy metal, vertical bars! They can be solid wooden gates, along with other iron detailing.
  • Safe - electric gates are safe, more so if they are modern gates and systems, designed, installed and maintained by a local professional specialist company.

And that is where we come in! We have many years experience of creating fantastic gates for domestic and commercial customers - and we can create amazing electric gates for you.
