They offer peace of mind and a sense of desirability about your property but, if you are considering installing electric gates you probably have some burning questions that need answering...
This is a common concern and we understand why! But, manufacturers of electric gates have already thought about this.
Systems of this kind usually have a large battery as part of the operating procedure and in this battery, will be enough stored power to open and close gates should there be a power cut. Depending on use, this battery power can last for a long time. It will also kick into action should there be a drop in electricity, known as a brownout.
There is another option too. Many customers are asking about solar power or even water-powered ‘electric’ gates. The solar panels capture solar energy and the battery on the system converts it so that the electricity can be stored, ready for when the gates are used.
It is almost impossible to get locked in or out of your property, mainly because systems are created to prevent this happening - to put your mind at rest, we have never come across it.
There are different means of triggering electric gates at your property so that they open when you need them too. This can be a keypad, a fob on your car keys and a sensor in your vehicle that sends a signal when it is close to the gates, triggering them to open.
Most customers have a combination of these, along with an intercom to talk to callers at the gate. By having a combination of access triggers, the likelihood of being locked out or in is minimised.
If the system does fail, you call the office who will help you reset your system.
We think they do, yes. And here’s why;
